It has been a little while since I’ve done a blog about clothing and I am excited about this one because I absolutely LOVE spring fashion. Not only is everything cute but it is less expensive than buying winter clothes, hehe.

Mini Chicago Trip – Travel Guide (Summer)

Mini Chicago Trip – Travel Guide (Summer)

It is summer y’all and it is travel time! I am trying to get a few trips in before I start my summer II class. A few weekends ago I was in Chicago visiting family and friends. It was my first time and I can’t wait to go back; it was such a beautiful city. I rounded up a few recommendations for a quick getaway in Chicago. What made me fall in love were the roof top bars. That is definitely a must when visiting the windy city.

Top Food Recommendations

Portillo’s Hot Dogs – When in the Chi you must try a Chicago style hot dog and an Italian Beef; it is delicious. Also, with your meal order a Coca-Cola, lol. IT IS SO GOOD HERE! Don’t forget their chocolate cake. I missed it the first time and I was told I was missing out so I went back and got it and I have no regrets.

Pizzeria Uno – I definitely recommend this restaurant for a good deep dish pizza.  For an appetizer, you must try their calamari. I got a regular deep dish with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and pepperoni. Of course, when in Chicago you have to try their local IPA, Daisy Cutter.

Public House – This was one of my favorite Restaurant Bars. I went there twice for dinner and then the next day for drinks. To start with we ordered the housemade pretzels served with cheddar beer fondue; it was so yummy. It was a great pair with beer. For my main course, I ordered the Lemon-Grass Ginger Mussels and it was absolutely delicious and flavorful; I would order it again.

Summer House Santa Monica – This spot is for sure on the top of the list for brunch spots. Their Bloody Mary’s were hands down the best. I asked what the waiter recommended because I was so indecisive since everything sounded amazing. I ordered the breakfast tostadas and it was phenomenal. The salsa was amazing and served with a piece of avocado. While you are there check out their pastries; their cookies are delish.

Blue Door (Lincoln Park) – I stumbled across this cute farm-to-fork restaurant and they were having free food and Rosé samples, I couldn’t turn that offer down. My favorites for the food portion was the kale salad and the grilled cheese. It was game over when I tried their lemon bars, haha! I probably ate five, oops.

Bar Recommendations

Cindy’s Rooftop Bar & Restaurant – This cute spot is located in the heart of Chicago with the best views of Lake Michigan and Millenium Park. I didn’t get to eat at the restaurant because you need to make reservations beforehand. The food looked amazing. For drinks, you must try their Bloody Mary, Grey Garden, Kick in the Daisy, and Western Cape.

Summer Attractions

The Art Insitute of Chicago – I love visiting art museums. I am a huge fan of modern art and getting to see one the 3rd largest collections of art in the country was amazing. Definitely, stop by the cafe they have yummy snacks and espresso.

Cloud Gate –  Known as, “The Bean” and it is one of the most common attractions in the city.

Millennium Park

I hope I gave you good tips for your getaway to Chicago. I will definitely be back so if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Distressed Denim + Lace

Distressed Denim + Lace

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend, honoring our fallen heroes. I want to remember and thank all of our brave heroes who served and who still is serving.

I wanted to share this week’s look. I am obsessed with this robe, it is the best to throw over a simple outfit and it comes in three colors. It pairs perfectly with the Leith lace top I have on.

Outfit Details

Top: Lush – Lace Trim Camisole Robe: Chloe & Kate – Satin Robe Bottoms: Topshop – Moto Hayden Super Ripped Boyfriend Jeans Shoes: Sam Edelman – Sheri Sandal

This pair of Topshop distressed denim is a must have. It is hard to come by a good pair of boyfriend jeans that fit perfectly like these.

My favorite part, SHOES! I love these Sam Edelman’s. They are the perfect summer sandal because you can either dress it up or down when you don’t want to wear a larger heel. I love that lace up shoes are a trend; it definitely adds a lot to such a simple outfit.

It is finally Spring, y’all! This year is flying by so quickly I cannot keep up! There are so many cute clothes/ shoes this season, I want it all. Only if my wallet would allow me to buy everything; I know I would, haha!

I am loving this Tan duster coat for spring. It is so light weight and flowy. This duster ends in sheer pleats and so flattering. You can wear it with a colorful top or even trousers. It runs true to size and I am wearing a medium. I am pairing it with a pair of Top Shop Boutique denim.

Everyone needs a pair of light-wash denim. I’ve had my eye on these Raw Hem Straight Leg Jeans for awhile; they are so street chic. They are definitely a relaxed fit and I am wearing a size 8. I love how these pants give that Peter Pan look. They pair well with the AGL’s I have on.

Let’s talk comfort, these Attilio Giusti Leombruni’s ‘Cork Platform Sandals’ are the best shoes for walking, yet stylish. They are Italian and hand made shoes, such great quality. The two tone in the cork platform is so cute, I love it. I am all about platform because your foot is not concentrated to the ground and it gives more support and cussion. AGL is also known for their softness and comfortable fit. I am wearing a 39 1/2.

Bauble Bar has the cutest jewelry. Tassle earrings go a long way when it comes to dressing up an outfit. It makes a perfect accessory.

Celebrating Love/ Wedding-Guest Look

Love is in the air for the Smith’s. My aunt, Daisy married the man of her dreams this weekend. Everything was so beautiful and magical; exactly what a fairytale wedding would look like. The family is so excited to have a new addition; welcome to the family Scott. Right now they are soaking up the sun in Bora Bora. What better way to spend your honeymoon? Congratulations love birds.

The bride requested for our immediate family to wear black gowns and everyone looked stunning. I wanted to share my look with y’all today.

I am wearing a dress from Lulu’s and it fits perfectly all around. It was very light and comfortable. The mesh in the front definitely added to it and that is what made me fall in love with the dress. Ladies, prom season is upon us and the price for these dresses are unbelievable.

Lulu’s Dresses

Okay, so these Vanessa Mooney ‘Charlize Tassel Drop Earrings’ are to die for! I wore them to the wedding and wore them again with a casual outfit. They make a perfect statement earring. There are plenty to order (they come in two colors) & they are 50% off right now!!! That is a steal!

This Sole Society  ‘Mona Beaded Flap Clutch’ is one of my favorite crossbody bags and I also love wearing it as a clutch. It dresses up and down very well and matches with a ton of outfits I own. I thought it was the perfect accessory to this black Lulu’s dress I wore for the wedding.

The Halogen ‘Iris Lace-Up Orsay Pump’ was my latest buy and I put them to the test. I wore them for an eight-hour shift and all day at the wedding… I must say not only are they adorable; they are very comfortable.
